Toni Goffe is a painter, freelance illustrator and jazz bassist. We found his work in the gallery space at Gilbert White’s House in the village of Selborne, Hampshire.
For pure joy, vivid colour and a child-like view of the world, this is among the best art we’ve seen in some time. Toni’s animal figures are full of character and expression and some of his visual gags are worthy of Spike Milligan and cartoonist Gary Larsen – International Cow (below) Cat on a Glass Roof, and many others. Inventive and fun and gloriously painted…
Receipient of the Gold Medallion Book Award for his illustrations for the children’s book, Just In Case You Ever Wonder, a collection of his work was also recently featured in the Halcyon Gallery ‘s ‘Art In Miniature‘ exhibition.
A former curator of the Pendulum Gallery in Selborne, and the John Stobart Gallery, Boston USA, Toni exhibited in numerous galleries along the East Coast of America, in both mixed and one-man shows. RC
