As if the new solo album Someday wasn’t enough, Susanna Hoffs also released Some Summer Days as a taster, a five song EP featuring alternative versions of some of those songs. Equally melodic and filled with sunny 60s vibes, it’s a near-perfect pop record.
The five original songs (no cover versions) on Some Summer Days feature a cocktail of pop, folk and dash of rock, relaxed grooves, jangly guitars and trademark vocal harmonies.
Raining, One Day and Always Enough are re-workings of Someday album tracks. Petit Chanson (little song) and Summer Daze are the bookends, sing-along, strum-along or straight easy listening (no jibe) for a lazy day outside or in.
The Some Summer Days EP is an excellent starter or sweet for the Someday entree. RC

Good material; but surely you looked at these in the wrong order. Don’t artists release EP’s to promote upcoming albums? T.
