Freecom DVB-T Resurrected

Having been away for a few days refurbishing a house, my packing included the Freecom DVB-T USB receiver.

I gave up on this device after Ubuntu Hardy when various kernel updates made the installation of firmware such a nightmare it was no longer worth the effort.

But it’s back! Ubuntu 10.10 now includes a stack of DVB firmware and once I got to grips with the DVB scan utilities, I got it working again on the Compaq. It’s a low-powered device, of course, so issue of a decent TV aerial remains.

Now my issue I getting it to work on the Dell where the modules refuse to compile… RC
