Playing Catchup on Windows 7

As a replacement for the woeful Windows Vista, Windows 7 may have sold in volume, both as OEM and upgrade versions but that doesn’t mean everyone has jumped ship yet. Despite the fact that Windows 7 appeared at the back end of 2009 (as the financial crisis hit full depth of recession), many people are only now moving onto it. Deferred purchases of new machines and software upgrades have delayed getting Windows 7 into some consumers hands. Including mine.

But, no longer. Windows 7 starter came as a pre-install in the Dell Mini 1011…
…which is something I need to get to grips with on a machine of mine not other people.

So coming up:

  • What’s new in Windows 7?
  • What’s new in MS-Office 2007
  • Microsoft Security Essentials
  • Intenet Explorer 9

Along with anything else I discover along the way. AJS
