Every so often you come across some extraordinary images. In searching for an old New Yord b/w cityscape, I came across Paolo Barcellos Jnr., film-maker and photographer out of São Paulo, Brazil, but something of a globe-trotter.
I’ve found very little personal info about him other than in his Flickr profile: “I’m passionate about filmmaking and photography. If you want to know more about me, please visit my website…” So you can go to http://www.paulobarcellosjr.com/, which is a work in progress, or see his full set of galleries on Flickr at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/paulobar/ and his commercial HDR sets on http://www.hdrbank.com/. Much of his portfolio is distributed under Creative Commons licenses.
I’m highlighting his urban landscapes, including some of his experiments with HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography, although these are in the minority of galleries. You will find more recent work, including some good close-up street subjects and landscapes among the 2010-2011 sets. There’s a large body of work here. Expect a part-two posting sometime. RC
